Put on your Venusian best for the 1 year of Kiddie Pool & the 150th year of the gilded era home that holds us. Architecture historian Peter Gabak opens the night with a gilded era presentation, Nina Isabel leads a UFO conjuring at 9:30ish, and there will be projections, curations and good company to enjoy throughout the evening. Small artworks, zines & spells from Kiddie Pool participants, plus Venus approved masks ($7) will be for sale to support our programming for 2025. Never a Dull Moment on Grand Street
Artworks by Stephanie Loveless & Victoria van der Laan
Under the influence of proximity, the first visual exhibition at Kiddie Pool features two artists with very different practices who both call Grand Street home.
Stephanie Loveless a media artist and Director of the Center for Deep Listening at Rensselaer. Her work centers on sound and vocal embodiment, and has been presented globally.
Victoria van der Laan is a self-taught textile artist taking her familial heritage of quilt-making to new levels. Her innovative pay-what-you-can weekly offering on social media subverts the dominant art economy and wholly supports her work and family.
